Opportunities

There are increasing opportunities for volunteers to work with GiFFT to advance the fair trade movement. GiFFT links skilled volunteers with producer communities that have special needs. If you are interested to explore any of the opportunities mentioned below, please contact us.

AGRICULTURAL EXPERTISE: GiFFT has opportunities for persons with agricultural expertise to serve in short-term and medium-term volunteer assignments in producer communities. Working with farmers to help improve their agricultural production and their lives - and the lives of their families - can be a wonderful, even life-changing experience.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT EXPERTISE: If you have expertise in community development or international health or a related field, GiFFT would like to link you with an appropriate volunteer opportunity. If your experience in community development (or the management of cooperatives, or civic governance, etc.) has been in Western countries, that is fine. Your experience may be valuable and greatly appreciated in producer communities.

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: Fair Trade is business - good business. Therefore, your business expertise and experience is needed in producer organizations. If you're good at business, GiFFT likely can link you to a producer organization - such as a cooperative or grower group - that will benefit from your expertise.

Please do not hesitate to contact GiFFT to explore volunteer opportunities.
