Licensing
LICENSING: The GiFFT Certified Fair Trade mark on a product is valuable because it's backed by a world-class standard that is easy to understand and yet professionally written. The mark guarantees that a product originated with certified producers who were paid a fair price for their product. When certification is granted after inspection, the manufacturer of a product is licensed to use the GiFFT Certified Fair Trade mark.
CERTIFICATION: Once a GiFFT fair trade standard is in place for a product, the product will be inspected. If it passes inspection, the product will be certified. Such a certification verifies that the product complies with its respective GiFFT fair trade standard. GiFFT facilitates third-party certification of its standards through CertSystems International, an independent inspection and certification organization. CertSystems International is world class and follows ISO 65 guidelines. A certification granted by CertSystems International ensures many things. (See the box below.)
